Bad Fish Needs To Be Caught
We normally throw back “bad fish”, but today we are in hot pursuit of a real piece of shit. Let’s catch this one and put him in the frying pan.
Update: Information and Photograph Released Seeking Public’s Help in Lincoln City Police Officer Shooting and Search -01/24/11
The search for the suspect who shot and critically injured a Lincoln City police officer Sunday night has not been positively identified and the multi-agency search is continuing in the Waldport area. Investigators are seeking information to locate and interview the registered owner of the vehicle that was being operated by the suspect and later abandoned near Waldport.
The vehicle’s registered owner is identified as DAVID ANTHONY DURHAM, age 43. Mr. DURHAM is an Oregon resident described as a white male, 6’3″, 185 pounds. The provided DMV photograph was taken in 2007.
Investigators have made contact with all known locations where Mr. DURHAM may be but have not located him. Investigators are releasing his name and photograph to help obtain information that will confirm he is safe and to be able to interview him to learn if he has information to help identify and locate the suspect in this investigation.
Anyone with information regarding Mr. DURHAM’s location is asked to call the Lincoln County 9-1-1 Non-Emergency phone number at (541) 265-4231.
More information will be released when authorized by investigators and Lincoln City Police Department.

Best Clam Chowder in Oregon
I’ have always said, “You can’t catch any fish if your hook isn’t in the water” Well during my stay on the Oregon coast I have cast my hook in many new waters and have been enjoying some of the best catches of my life! I walked into a little shop called the Bay Walk Cafe, right on the main drag (101 HWY) of Depoe Bay.

Here I met some of the friendliest people on the planet! A man by the name of Clyde greeted me as I strolled in off the street. I was dressed in my fishing gear which consisted of some fish slime stained “slickers”, rubber boots and some tuna blood on my sweater. Good thing I was in Depoe Bay, because instead of being asked to leave (maybe due to the foul smell emanating from my clothes) I was actually welcomed with open arms and lots of love. Clyde instantly recognized me as a fisherman and shared some of his fishing stories from his home in Trinidad. I instantly felt like family and was treated the same.

Since that day, I have been visiting The Bay Walk Cafe on a regular basis. I’ve been treated to many hot cups of mocha and delicious baked goods. In exchange for his hospitality I decided to make a little video for him without letting him know. I walked in today and showed him my work, and it brought a big to his face. He asked me what I owed him, and I replied, “You just paid me.” Some things you just can’t put a price on and true friendship is one of them! Thank you Clyde for your kindness and friendship. Bums Don’t Shave
I’ve been without a traditional full time job since June of 2010. It doesn’t mean I am a bum, but instead I have decided to live a different lifestyle. My work now consists of a daily adventure consisting of three priorities. First and foremost is earning some kind of income to support my daughter. Second is making sure I can sustain shelter for me to live in and third is making sure I am physically and mentally healthy. Pretty simple eh? Everything else falls under one of these three priorities. So you are wondering how I make an income? Well, that’s probably the most challenging yet sometimes the most fun! I wake up every morning and put one foot in front of the other just like anyone else. Instead of me going to a full time job “working for the man”, I choose to earn an honest living leveraging the skills I’ve acquired during the span of my young 35 years of age. Most everything can be attributed to being raised the right way. It also helps being an Eagle Scout! Lately I’ve done a little bit of everything to earn a buck. Roofing a house, sanding a deck, scrubbing a walk-in cooler, fishing commercially, filleting fish, harvesting wild mushrooms, and even selling produce. I also live a very frugal lifestyle. If there’s a way to save a penny, I do it! So stay tuned for many stories about life on the road and of course all my fishing tales. In the meantime, check out how I saved a little money by shaving my face with a fillet knife!
